There are to many things I wished that people understood about my mental health and mental health in general.
If I had to focus on one thing it would be that I hope EVERYONE would realized that they, and others, are not define by mental illness.
A person is so much more than a mental illness. When I was first diagnosed with depression my best friend reminded me that depression was a chemical imbalance in my brain.
Depression does not define me as a person. Depression does not begin to describe my character, dreams and ambitions.
I am so much more than depression. I am so much more than my illness.
You are so much more than your diagnosis and illness.
I need to remind myself all the time that depression and anxiety do not define me! Yes, it is a struggle but I am strong!
