Practicing Gratitude

A couple of days ago, in the United States, was Thanksgiving. It’s a holiday that most people spend by reflecting on what they are most thankful for.

Right now I am most thankful for my health. This past year was a struggle for me, especially my mental health. I spend most of last year focusing on my mental and physical health. I’m proud of the work and the progress I have made.

I want to end this year, and start next year, practicing gratitude. Studies show that practicing gratitude has beneficts, including:

  • feeling more positive emotions
  • relishing good experiences
  • improved health
  • dealing with adversity
  • building strong relationships

It is so easy to forget all that we have to be grateful for. By practicing being more grateful I am hoping to also stay more present.

How will you practice gratitude going forward?
