Testament to the State of Nonprofits Today

Yesterday was a true testament to the state of the nonprofit sector as federal funding has been drastically slashed.

I went to a county of board supervisor meeting to review agenda items for the county’s budget for next fiscal year. The agenda was nearly 44 pages long with the vast majority of it being a list of nonprofits seeking funding.

Thankfully my organization was on it and I was ready to speak to get that funding approved (it will go to a vote in June). But it breaks my heart to see all the communities who are struggling.

Nonprofit work is not for the weak.
